While the COVID-19 pandemic continues to touch our lives on a daily basis, our mission at DownSyndrome Achieves has remained constant: to help facilitate the discovery of new treatments and therapies that ultimately improve the health and well-being of people with Down syndrome and others. This mission is made all the more clear and necessary during this ongoing global health crisis.
Since the start of this year, our team has made strides towards our goal of creating a national biobank for Down syndrome research. In March, we launched DSA Biobank operations at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, and Lee Specialty Clinic in Lousiville, KY. We also approved the first research initiative to receive samples from the DSA Biobank. Both of these set the stage for a wider scale effort once we are able to resume operations again.
These milestone and accomplishments were made possible by everyone who has supported our work over the last several years. Because of your generosity, and our careful and thoughtful financial planning, we are positioned to push through today’s circumstance to forge ahead in our mission.
We could not do this without you.
On behalf of everyone at DownSyndrome Achieves, thank you for everything that you do for us.
With deepest gratitude,
Lito Ramirez
